Mental Health Week 2015

Do you know someone with a mental illness?

Around 20% of adults are affected by some form of mental illness every year. Nearly half 45% of the population will experience a mental disorder at some stage in their lives.

ACLS new LGBTI learning activity in progress

As a part of ACLS dedication to ongoing development of new and relevant aged care education and up to date content, sovaldi we are in the process of developing a new learning activity, which will focus on delivering care to LGBTI elderly people in aged care.

ACLS recognise the importance of ensuring LGBTI people have the same level of care and support in aged care as all other Australians and that nurses have the education resources available to best deliver appropriate care.

Former Minister for mental health and ageing, mark Butler said ‘we are predicting a large increase in the demand for aged care by LGBTI Australians and we need to be in a position to respond to their needs’.

Aged Care Learning Solutions are currently developing a specific learning activity to support nurses and organisations education requirements regarding this topic and we predict this will be available to our clients and individual nurse subscribers December this year.
