Cert III Concerns and Continuing Education Recommended

The recently released Productivity Commission report “Caring for Older Australians” has raised serious concerns about the quality of Certificate III in Aged Care training. Variations in overall total hours, healing workplace experience hours and the validity of workplace assessments have been exposed.

The Commission has also recommended continuing education for all aged care workers. Community and residential aged care workers identified the need for dementia, cheap mental health and palliative care training.

Aged Care Learning Solutions has over 26 online learning activities that provide continuing education in dementia, mental health and palliative care for personal care assistants, community care workers, registered and enrolled nurses as well as allied professionals and assistants.
